With a playoff win on the line, Silver rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Artesia Bulldogs. The win was familiar territory for the Fighting Colts, who have now won 13 matches in a row.

Azariah Madrid spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maria Ruelaz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Mia Sanchez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Silver's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Artesia, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-8.

Coincidentally, Silver and Artesia will both be playing Lovington the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Fighting Colts will host them at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
