Basketball Recap: Duarte Takes a Loss

Duarte suffered their closest loss since January 12, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Baldwin Park Braves by a score of 46-43. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Braves 15-2 in the first quarter.

Baldwin Park got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Randle Tebo out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Eric Avila, who posted 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Duarte's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-15. As for Baldwin Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Duarte and Azusa will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Baldwin Park, they will take on Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sierra Vista will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Baldwin Park surely won't give up without a fight.
