Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mesabi East). They blew past the Greenway Raiders 84-31 on Tuesday. Given the Giants' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Raiders are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was Mesabi East's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Greenway, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesabi East will be home for the holidays to greet International Falls at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenway, they will welcome Hill City/Northland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
