Softball Recap: Hunter Finds Home Field Redemption Against American Fork

There's no place like home for Hunter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the American Fork Cavemen 10-2 on Friday.

LEILA AIONO spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on KENYA LAPUAHO, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was ALEXA OLSEN, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hunter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hunter's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for American Fork, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunter will head out to take on Bingham at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for American Fork, they will square off against Pleasant Grove at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
