Basketball Recap: Sun Valley Takes a Loss

Sun Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 51-41 to the Cuthbertson Cavaliers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-36 back in January.

Despite the loss, Sun Valley still got an impressive performance from Noah Mckinney, who went 8 of 19 on his way to 22 points along with six boards and three steals. Those 22 points gave Mckinney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Powell, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Sun Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Cuthbertson, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Sun Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-43 defeat against Monroe on the 29th. As for Cuthbertson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-41 loss against Marvin Ridge on the 31st.
