On Saturday, Westside faced Gray Collegiate Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Westside Rams took a hard 62-43 fall against the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonovan Webb, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiy Hollings, who had eight points.

Even though they lost, Westside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Levi Ball continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gray Collegiate Academy, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. Ball is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malachi Hamlet, who put up five points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westside fell to 11-1. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Westside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-55 defeat against Greenville on the 29th. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-42 win against Goose Creek on the 29th.
