Volleyball Recap: Edgewood's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Edgewood waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Merritt Island Christian Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Edgewood took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-11, 25-15.

Anna Ely paced Edgewood's offense, picking up seven kills. Ely got some help from Debbie Walley and her 19 assists. Walley also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Macy Ferguson, racking up five apiece.

Edgewood's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Merritt Island Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Edgewood will square off against Bayside at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will face off against Cocoa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
