Fairmont came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Springfield, but Caelyn Cave wouldn't allow it. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Firebirds on Tuesday thanks in part to Cave, who had 29 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 19 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Despite the loss, Fairmont still got an impressive performance from Cydnee Cline, who had ten digs and six assists. Those assists marked the first that Cline has posted this season.

Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record this season. As for Fairmont, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Beavercreek on the 8th. As for Fairmont, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Miamisburg on the 9th.
