Softball Recap: Dothan Takes Down Ranked Jasper

Dothan faced Jasper in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves walked away with a 5-1 win over the Vikings. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on three straight.

Brantlee McCarthy made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. McCarthy was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Jadyn Hutchins was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Savanna Kendrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dothan's record now sits at 6-1. As for Jasper, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-4.

Dothan has already played their next matchup (against Spain Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Jasper, they will venture away from home to square off against Hueytown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
