Football Game Preview: Lower Merion Aces vs. Upper Darby Royals

The Lower Merion Aces will venture away from home to take on the Upper Darby Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lower Merion has given up an average of 35.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lower Merion is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Strath Haven on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Aces were dealt a 42-7 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Aces in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Upper Darby). They blew past Harriton, posting a 35-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won six in a row.

Lower Merion's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Upper Darby, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.

Lower Merion came up short against Upper Darby in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 27-21. Can the Aces avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
