Softball Recap: Clever Comes Up Short

If Clever was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Billings on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Jays fell just short of the Forsyth Panthers by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Blue Jays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Maycee King was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Cheney, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Clever's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Forsyth, their record is now 12-16.

Clever does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forsyth, they will face off against Marionville at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
