Baseball Recap: Clio Comes Up Short

Clio had lost five straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-11 to make it six. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goodrich Martians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Martians this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-3 defeat on Monday.

As for Goodrich, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games.

For Goodrich's part, the team relied heavily on Thomas Niles, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Niles has posted over his last 12 contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Gould, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Clio is set to square off against their familiar foe Brandon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Goodrich will challenge rival Linden at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
