Basketball Recap: West Aurora Find Success

The matchup between West Aurora and Aurora East on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The West Aurora Blackhawks had just enough and edged the Aurora East Tomcats out 58-56. The Blackhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tomcats, too.

West Aurora has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Aurora East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

West Aurora won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Thornton Fractional North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Aurora East, they will take on Clemente in a tournament on Monday.
