Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for the Villages Charter

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but The Villages Charter had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They skirted past the Hernando Leopards 6-5. The victory was nothing new for the Buffalo as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lincoln Gagne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Marcello Cortale was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Torin Foley, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The Villages Charter's record is now 23-6. As for Hernando, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-14.

The Villages Charter will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Leopards: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
