Football Recap: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Takes a Loss

The Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Lakers were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 40-36 to the Calvin Christian Squires.

Colton Engen went supernova For Calvin Christian., picking up 165 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 165 receiving yards gave Engen a new career-high. Greyson Cook was another key player, throwing for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calvin Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

Coming up, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic will face off against Fennville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lakers will be up against the Blackhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Calvin Christian, they will challenge Bloomingdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
