Baseball Game Preview: Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies vs. Circleville Tigers

The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies are taking a road trip to take on the Circleville Tigers at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnstown-Monroe will be strutting in after a victory while Circleville will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Johnstown-Monroe needed a bit of extra time to put away Fredericktown. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Freddies.

Braeden Archibald made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Holbrook was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sevi Chiddention, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Johnstown-Monroe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Circleville unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 5-2 to Lancaster.

Johnstown-Monroe now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Circleville, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
