Football Game Preview: Ennis Lions vs. Port Neches-Groves Indians + How To Watch

The Ennis Lions will take on the Port Neches-Groves Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ennis is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Wilson 70-35. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-21.

Ennis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from CHRIS MARTINEZ, who threw for 262 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, MARTINEZ racked up 139.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. WENDERIUS JONES helped MARTINEZ out on the ground, rushing for 141 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries.

Meanwhile, Port Neches-Groves strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Nacogdoches to the tune of 48-7. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Dragons are ranked 567th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ennis better keep an eye on Tyson Henry. He was instrumental in Port Neches-Groves' win, rushing for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Port Neches-Groves' run defense was locked in: Nacogdoches could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The Indians didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.1.

Ennis' record now sits at 7-4. As for Port Neches-Groves, their record is now 11-0.
