Mount de Sales Academy hadn't done well against John Carroll recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Sailors narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Patriots 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sailors have posted since March 25th.

Reese Barchanowicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Olivia Ross was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Kat Wright was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mount de Sales Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for John Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.
