Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mesa Verde). They claimed a resounding 70-3 win over the Vacaville Christian Falcons at home. Considering the Mavericks have won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cesar Granados was his usual excellent self, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles. Fred Robinson was another key player, gaining 58 total yards and three touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mesa Verde was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vacaville Christian only rushed for 31.

Mesa Verde's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Mathew Garcia and Gabe Mcguire.

Mesa Verde now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Vacaville Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Mesa Verde will head out to challenge Woodland Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Woodland Christian: 9.4, Mesa Verde: 9.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Vacaville Christian, they will take on Rio Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
