Basketball Recap: Walton Takes a Loss

Walton lost against Navarre back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Walton Braves fell 35-27 to the Navarre Raiders. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Among those leading the charge was Gabrielle Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 boards. She is becoming a predictor of Navarre's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 4-8 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Riley, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Walton's record is now 2-13. As for Navarre, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.

Walton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 42-40 loss against Arnold on the 11th. As for Navarre, they will square off against Milton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Navarre surely won't give up without a fight.
