Soccer Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter Academy vs. Windermere Prep

The Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks will challenge the Windermere Prep Lakers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Thursday, Cornerstone Charter Academy came up short against Deltona and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Ducks have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Windermere Prep entered their tilt with Frostproof on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout. The Lakers' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of David Asuquo, which was the first he's scored this season.

Windermere Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six contests. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7-4.

Cornerstone Charter Academy came up short against Windermere Prep in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, falling 2-0. Can Cornerstone Charter Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
