Basketball Recap: Chris Mable Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Brashier Middle College Charter

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against High Point Academy, Liberty was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They managed a 55-49 win over the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 57-43 back in January.

Liberty got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Mable out in front who went 5-for-9 to rack up 17 points. The dominant performance gave Mable a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Logan Smith, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Brashier Middle College Charter's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Hutchens, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Ridge Bryson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Coming up, Liberty will welcome Chesnee at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chesnee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.7 points per game this season. Brashier Middle College Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
