Baseball Recap: Ash Fork/Seligman Takes a Loss

After soaring to 20 runs the game before, Ash Fork/Seligman was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against the Williams Vikings, falling 19-2. The Spartans have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Ash Fork/Seligman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesus Ayala, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Ayala is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Fernando Ayala also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Ash Fork/Seligman's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Williams, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ash Fork/Seligman will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northland Prep Academy at 2:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Williams, they will square off against Page at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
