River Valley extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 16-4 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Galion Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Wednesday.
Sidney Street was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Kamryn Fowler was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Chloe Addis, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
As for Galion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 27th.
On Galion's side, they got a big performance out of Madelyn Schieber, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Eckert, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
