Baseball Game Preview: Silver Bluff Bulldogs vs. Fox Creek Predators

Silver Bluff is 0-7 against Fox Creek since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Predators at 7:00 p.m. Silver Bluff has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Silver Bluff lost 13-3 to Fox Creek on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Fox Creek's part, Will Fountain tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). Fountain has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Devin Hillary was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Lewis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Fox Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silver Bluff only posted an OBP of .316.

Silver Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Fox Creek, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Silver Bluff has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fox Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
