Softball Recap: Genesee Falls to Mt. Morris in First Game of Season

Genesee unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 14-10 to the Mt. Morris Panthers on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Autumn Simpson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lana Allen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Coming up, Genesee will challenge Durand at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Morris, they will welcome Byron at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
