Volleyball Recap: Lee's Summit Tigers vs. Bishop Miege Stags
Lee's Summit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bishop Miege Stags. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Stags when the teams met back in September of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Lucy Nault paced Lee's Summit's offense, picking up 14 kills. Nault got some help from Brecklyn Johnson and her 18 assists. Maycie Martien controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Bishop Miege found their leader in sophomore Kelly Neenan, who had ten digs and one assist. Kelly Brown also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Lee's Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Bishop Miege, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-14 record this season.
Lee's Summit will take on Staley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Miege, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Lansing on the 27th.
