Football Game Preview: Airline Vikings vs. Byrd Yellow Jackets + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Dj Allen and Christian Maxie are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Airline Vikings will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Byrd Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Airline knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Byrd likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Airline got the win against Natchitoches Central by a conclusive 41-21. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Byrd). They came out on top against Benton by a score of 49-40 on Friday.

Byrd's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Airline, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Airline strolled past Byrd when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 35-21. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Yellow Jackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
