Baseball Game Preview: Normandy Invaders vs. Westlake Demons

The Normandy Invaders will venture away from home to challenge the Westlake Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Normandy nor Westlake posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Normandy fell victim to Walsh Jesuit and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Westlake didn't have quite enough to beat Buckeye on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Bucks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Blake Jensen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Westlake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Jung, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Normandy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-7. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Normandy couldn't quite get it done against Westlake in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Invaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
