Baseball Recap: Chestnut Ridge's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Chestnut Ridge came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-5 to the Bishop McCort Crushers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since April 17th.

Tyler Yatta was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Chestnut Ridge's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. As for Bishop McCort, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Coming up, Chestnut Ridge will challenge Somerset at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Bishop McCort, they will take on Greater Johnstown at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crushers are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
