Baseball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Placer

Placer won against Frontier on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Hillmen never let the Kerman Lions get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hillmen.

Not much got past Jayson Glatt, who gave up just seven hits to keep Kerman off the board. Glatt also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Placer is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sam Mowry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Placer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Placer's record now sits at 13-9. As for Kerman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Placer will take on Yuba City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kerman, they will square off against Central Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
