Preview: Parkland Matadors vs. Andress Eagles
Parkland is 0-9 against Andress since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Parkland Matadors will head out on the road to face off against the Andress Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 20-20 at halftime, Parkland was not quite Chapin's equal in the second half on Friday. Parkland fell 43-30 to Chapin. Parkland found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 20 to 5 on offense.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Janeth Contreras, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds. Rachael Silva was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 5 assists.
Meanwhile, Andress' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hanks, falling 61-27.
Parkland's victory bumped their season record to 2-9 while Chapin's defeat dropped theirs to 4-10.
Parkland was dealt a bruising 51-15 defeat at the hands of Andress in their previous meeting back in November. Can Parkland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
