Baseball Game Preview: North Central Thunderbirds vs. White River Valley Wolverines

North Central is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and White River Valley a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The North Central Thunderbirds will take on the White River Valley Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Monday, North Central came up short against Casey-Westfield and fell 8-4.

Hayden Schultz put in work no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Schultz was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Schultz wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Greydyn Walters, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for White River Valley's offense. They lost 17-0 to North Daviess last Tuesday.

North Central took their win against White River Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
