Baseball Recap: Windsor Comes Up Short

Windsor fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Rancho Cotate on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Brandon Curry was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two doubles and one RBI. Gavin Restad was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Windsor's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-1. As for Rancho Cotate, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Windsor and Rancho Cotate should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Jaguars (ranked 109th) will meet Maria Carrillo (ranked 247th) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Rancho Cotate will challenge Piner at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (245 vs. 811).
