Football Recap: Lorenzo Barber and Jabin Gonzales Secure Win for St. Mary's Prep + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Mary's Prep walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Brother Rice Warriors on Friday as they made off with a 35-14 win. 35 seems to be a good number for the Eaglets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

A big part of St. Mary's Prep's win came down to the chemistry between Jabin Gonzales and his top target Lorenzo Barber. Gonzales threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns while Barber picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Barber a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two).

The victory (which was St. Mary's Prep's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Brother Rice, they moved to 6-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, St. Mary's Prep will take on Dow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Eaglets' offense will have their work cut out for them. Brother Rice does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
