Soccer Recap: Mitchell Comes Up Short

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They came up short against the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Mitchell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 538th, while NCSSM: Morganton are ranked 208th).

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for NCSSM: Morganton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mitchell is set to square off against their familiar foe Avery County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, NCSSM: Morganton will face off against rival Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
