Homestead won against Fishers last Monday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Spartans walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger Saints. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mason Gutmann looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Neiswonger, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gray Stockwell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Homestead's record now sits at 5-1. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Homestead will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Bellmont at 5:30 p.m. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, they are taking a road trip to square off against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Saints' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
