Basketball Game Preview: Needles Mustangs vs. Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles

The Needles Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Needles' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Tuesday, Needles really took it to Laughlin for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-35 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.

Luke Mills was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 10 en route to 16 points along with six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Goulet, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 12 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Lake Mead Christian Academy came up short against GV Christian on Tuesday, falling 71-47.

Lake Mead Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Needles, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0.

Needles couldn't quite finish off Lake Mead Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 63-60. Can Needles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
