Baseball Game Preview: Moundridge Wildcats vs. Marion Warriors

Moundridge hasn't had much luck against Marion recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will take on the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Marion took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Moundridge, who comes in off a win.

Moundridge made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Inman, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats blew past the Inman Teutons 13-7 on Friday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Inman Teutons on their field since April 14, 2022.

Meanwhile, Marion came up short against Little River on Friday, falling 18-4. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marion saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lander Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Eldon Smith also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Moundridge now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Moundridge might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Marion in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
