Softball Game Preview: Catholic Central Crusaders vs. Shaker Bison

The Catholic Central Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Shaker Bison at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Catholic Central has three straight wins, Shaker has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, it was close, but Catholic Central sidestepped Cohoes for a 3-2 victory.

Meanwhile, Shaker started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Colonie Central. They fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday.

Gianna Hotaling was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Jezabella Gray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Shaker's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Catholic Central beat Shaker 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
