Banning (Calif.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Cougars led 44-40 at the half.

The defeat comes as a step back for Banning, which notched a 62-32 victory over Cathedral City in its previous outing. The loss snapped Banning's 2-game winning streak.
Beaumont (3-1) goes up against Yucaipa in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Banning (2-1) locks horns with Shadow Hills also in a non-conference game.
