Soccer Recap: Cardinal Newman Comes Up Short

Cardinal Newman came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the St. Joseph's Catholic Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cardinal Newman of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Cardinal Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Cardinal Newman will venture away from home to take on Ben Lippen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Joseph's Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Southside Christian on the 27th.
