Basketball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

Carmel managed to keep up with Fishers until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Carmel Greyhounds came up short against the Fishers Tigers, falling 60-36. The Greyhounds haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Fishers found their leader in freshman Riley Schellhammer, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Allison Scheu was another key player, going 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points and six boards.

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Fishers, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel has already played their next game (against Pike), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fishers will look to defend their home court on Friday against Avon at 6:00 p.m. Avon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
