Volleyball Recap: Bloomington South Falls Short Against Ranked Center Grove

Bloomington South faced Center Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Trojans. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost eight in a row.

While Bloomington South ultimately came up short, they really made Center Grove work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 28-26, 25-19.

Quinn Reynolds paced Bloomington South's offense, picking up 11 kills. Reynolds got some help from Charlie Monroe and her 15 assists. Harper Rahn controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Bloomington South's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Center Grove, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Bloomington South will head out to square off against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Center Grove, they will venture away from home to face off against Jennings County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
