Football Game Preview: Madison County Red Raiders vs. Walnut Grove Warriors + Official Tickets

The Madison County Red Raiders will challenge the Walnut Grove Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Walnut Grove took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Madison County, who comes in off a win.

Madison County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Cedar Shoals, posting a 42-7 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Red Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Jaguars are ranked 310th).

Meanwhile, Walnut Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Flowery Branch, falling 49-28. The Warriors were down 42-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Madison County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-3.

Madison County strolled past Walnut Grove when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 21-6. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Warriors' Emadd Howard, who rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Red Raiders to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
