Softball Game Preview: North Union Wildcats vs. Dublin Jerome Celtics

The North Union Wildcats will square off against the Dublin Jerome Celtics at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. North Union will be strutting in after a victory while Dublin Jerome will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, North Union beat Graham Local 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Leah Cox made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kennedy Harrah was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Emma McElroy was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

North Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Dublin Jerome was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 11-7 to Hilliard Darby.

The win got North Union back to even at 8-8. As for Dublin Jerome, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
