Volleyball Recap: Maxwell Wildcats vs. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs
Maxwell lost against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs.
Kristyn Cheek paced Maxwell's offense, picking up seven kills. Cheek got some help from Emory Christensen and her ten assists. Rylynn Quick controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Leading Sumner-Eddyville-Miller to victory were Lily Hrasky and Avery Harder. Hrasky had 12 digs and one assist, while Harder had eight assists and three digs. Those eight assists gave Harder a new career-high.
Maxwell's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Maxwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Paxton on the 20th. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Dundy County-Stratton on the 20th.
