On Tuesday Kam Welch struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The performance marked the fewest earned runs Welch has had since back in March. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fourth in a row with more than six strikeouts. This season, he has an ERA of 3.15 over 20 innings pitched.
