Preview: Immaculate Mustangs vs. Staples Wreckers
The Immaculate Mustangs will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Staples Wreckers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Immaculate escaped with a win against Pomperaug by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Immaculate.
Meanwhile, Staples beat West Haven 62-51 on Wednesday.
Staples found their leader in underclassman Sam Clachko, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mason Tobias, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Immaculate now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Staples, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
Immaculate beat Staples 63-50 in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Will Immaculate repeat their success, or does Staples have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
