Softball Recap: Post Takes Down Abernathy in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Post rose to the challenge on Saturday. They beat Abernathy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-10. The victory continues a trend for Post in their matchups with Abernathy: they've now won five in a row.

Hayleigh Parker and Rylee Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: Parker went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Hernandez went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Azuray Landa, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Post kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.

Post's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Abernathy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11.

As of now, neither Post nor Abernathy have any future games scheduled.
